Trump Threatening China with More Additional Tariffs

President Trump posted on social media that” if China does not withdraw its 34% increase above their already long-term trading abuses by tomorrow, April 8th, 2025, The U.S. will impose an ADDITIONAL  50% tariffs effective April 9th. Talks with China from their requested meetings will also be terminated. Any negotiations requested by other countries will also take place immediately. 

Reciprocal Tariffs Effective Date Revision

To prevent importers from abusing the exception for goods that were in transit before April 5, 2025 when it is no longer realistic due to the passage of time, CBP will permit tariff exceptions only for goods that are entered for consumption, or withdrawn from warehouse for consumption, on or after 12:01 a.m. EDT on April 5, 2025, and before 12:01 a.m. EDT on May 27, 2025.

Drawback

It was announced by CBP that the Reciprocal duty on imports will be eligible for drawback of those tariffs.
