President Trump and his administration announced earlier that the additional 50% tariff would be levied against China, since they would not withdraw their retaliatory tariff of 34%. The tariff will go into effect tonight at 12:01am, along with the new Reciprocal tariff, and the “Emergency tariff” of 20%. This will bring the new punitive tariffs to a total of 104%.
